Musicatreize has commissioned Luca Antignani to compose a piece to mark the 100th anniversary of the master&#8217;s birth &#8211; Antignani&#8217;s answer is identical to the <em>Folk Songs<\/em>, for the twelve voices of Musicatreize and the instrumentalists of unitedberlin. However, he and Roland Hayrabedian make use of the originality of Musicatreize and have the songs from Berio&#8217;s collection performed by one of the soloists from Musicatreize; in <em>Ark<\/em>, these voices are brought together again in different formations, from solo to the full size of the ensemble.
