Xilin Wang was one of the countless sufferers of Mao&#8217;s culture revolution, he spent years in camps with torture and forced labour &#8211; his \u0152uvre is shaped by these experiences, in his <em>Quartet<\/em> they can be felt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also for Ying Wang political themes are recurring triggers for her work. That is also the case in <em>DIS-A.(ppearance)<\/em>, that is not only about the &#8220;disappearance&#8221; of a person but also about the disappearance of all her traces &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ten years after the historical meeting of Nixon and Mao John Adams writes the fulminant opera <em>Nixon in China<\/em>. Even though Adams did not all agree with Nixons politics, he was fascinated nonetheless by the handshake of the two powerful men.
