PRAHA: celetná – karlova – maiselova
Endure!
An evening that starts with the fierce feelings of an inner crisis of identity with no way out in a hostile and strange place and then takes away from the time its time-being, almost whispering: ensemble unitedberlin combines the short, ecstatic piece ‚Anín’ by the israeli Palestinian Samir Odeh-Tamimi (*1970) with the almost one-hour Piece ‚PRAHA – celetná – karlova – maiselova’ by Jakob Ullmann (*1958) under the direction of Miguel Pérez Iñesta.
Odeh-Tamimi tried in 1999 with ‚Anín’ to express the being lost between identities and real circumstances, in the face of the escalating conflict in the region this becomes sadly present again. Ullmann transformed 2007 in ‚PRAHA’ – connected in spirit with the victims of the Shoah – the endurance of the unimaginable and the seemingly futile longing for a life in freedom into quiet, captivating sounds.
