Rauhnächte and Three Kings

Wild powers, magic and a royal mission, ensemble unitedberlin opens the new year in the Villa Elisabeth with two exclamation marks: the first performance of ‚Rauhnächte’ by Arne Gieshoff, an evocative, ecstatic double concert for keyboard, piano, ensemble and live electronics as well as the performance of the multi media music theatre ‚Le Roys Mages’ by Fabián Panisello for singing actress, ensemble live electronics and video.

Musical visions of haunting and spells in the twelve nights around the change of years that are traditional called Rauhnächte are followed by the grand voyage of the three wise men from the orient, who follow the star of Bethlehem for rather different reasons and in the course of the trip not only meet a fourth companion but go through some adventurous experiences – as does the donkey in the stable.
